UPCOMING SHOWS! :
February 2009 -Really Rosie by Maurice Sendak and Carole King
-- The author of Where the Wild Things Are spins his imagination into a stage production starring Rosie, a girl who is a Broadway star in her own mind. It's summer time on Avenue P, and the neighborhood kids are bored. Rosie, stuck with the responsibility of watching her kid brother Chicken Soup, leads her friends on a fantasy path where they are destined for stardom. Each friend has a Broadway showstopper that tells the story of his or her life, well, fantasy life at least.
April 2009 - Annie Get Your Gun by Peter Stone with music by Irving Berlin.
-- Stone's version of this classic takes everything we love about local girl Annie Oakley and presents it in a way that is suited to our more modern sensibilities. The classic love affair, the perennial struggle between the ways of Mars and Venus, the struggle to understand others, and, of course, Berlin's music, are still what really make this show phenomenal.
