What is included in a complete application?
The student is responsible for submitting online or mailing the following: application, application fee, activities sheet, essay, teacher recommendations (no more than two), and having ACT/ SAT scores sent to the college from the testing company. Note: some schools do not require teacher recommendations or student essays. If there is a counselor page (sometimes known as the Secondary School Report or Curriculum page) the student must submit this form to the counselor for mailing.
The Student Service Offices are responsible for sending a College Packet which includes the counselor page (if applicable), official transcript, senior schedule, high school profile, and counselor letter of recommendation (if applicable.)
Remember, allow ten working days for processing all applications.
Steps in application process:
-
Student submits application online or sends through mail.
-
Student comes into their Student Service Office and fills out a blue Request to Send Transcript
form AFTER submitting or mailing application.
-
If there is a page for the counselor to complete, student attaches said page
to blue form
-
Student requests letters of recommendation to be mailed directly to the colleges by
teachers. In most cases, this is optional.
-
After 4-5 days, student or parent can check for verification that material has been sent on
Prep HQ.
